Copthorne Hotel Palmerston North

Check in was easy and plenty of parking available. There was some renovations happening but they were confined and of no nuisance. Everything was as expected for a chain hotel such as this Copthorne. Location is a couple of hundred meters from the town square which made it easy to walk to.

We were quite surprised by the standard of the hotel, far better than we had expected. The room was one of the best we have had anywhere, not luxurious but very practical, everything worked, it was quiet, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size and well appointed. There was construction going on around the hotel with scaffolding, etc, but it was not noticeable inside the building

I have read some of the other reviews, they are from people being quite precious about things. Like no treadmill for example, the expectation that this should be in a hotel gym, is very specific, and is definitely a recommendation, but not a complaint. It is a really good hotel for the price, and I have stayed in many over the years, it is better than its overall rating, and you will enjoy it, unless you have very unrealistic expectations.

Found the beds extremely comfortable and warm. All staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. It was very convenient to walk to the shops and leave the car safely in your carpark.

First Impression.. Central to CBD, literally a 2min walk to PaknSave, Burger King and the Plaza. Reception area clean and tidy and warm. Our room felt homely, spa bath was a bonus. Breakfast was very yummy!!

The room was actually fantastic, bed very comfy, shower great. Very nice for a couple of nights stay, thank you. Staff are amazing kind and positive, nothing a problem. Breakfast great. Hotel is working to improve internal area, maybe this is a start of updating hotel.

Hotel staff are really nice, restaurant to very good, hotel room clean and spacious. Its undergoing renovation which is good as it has huge potentional. I think the lobby and bar area would be cool in an industrial type decor.

The property was in a great location close to town, was gated which was awesome so we knew our truck was secure for the night. The 24hour reception was great as we didn’t arrive until after 10.30pm. The rooms were spotless, very comfy bed, quiet room, loved the Dyson fan! My fav hot chocolate sachets were on offer, the shower was AMAZING!! Staff were friendly & helpful.
